Toronto Fire Photos is owned & maintained by photographer John Riddell.

John has been a freelance photojournalist for more than a decade covering news, sports, documentary, weddings and fire related images. His photos and reports have appeared in newspapers, magazines, websites, books and product catalogs throughout North America.

The son of a retired Toronto firefighter, John grew up around the fire service, often visiting and spending time in different fire stations around the city with his father Warren. Applying his years of photography experience was a natural fit to capture the men and women of the now amalgamated Toronto Fire Services.

John's efforts have been recognized 3 years in a row by the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters Association with 4 photography awards in their yearly Media Awards.

The International Association of Fire Fighters have also awarded John a 2nd place finish in their 2008 international awards for best images in a publication with a circulation under 100,000.
